HYPOCRITICAL WORLD

The world twirls in a hypocritical cycle
Choosing who to affect like a game of roulette
I have been a victim of such crime
A perpetrator of the same offence
It is what evolution teaches

With me being the perfect student.

We are a confused breed
Always ready to critic the helpless
Whilst betraying those we call friends
Hating what is new and unlike us
Rejecting what is old and sensible
Individuals think they hold perfection.

Society standards are degraded
Teasing the privileged for what they have
Pitying the wretched with our smiles
Tossing others to extremes of anorexia and obesity
Destroying ourselves to acquire perfection
Discarding the little flaws that define us.

We claim to embrace differences
Yet we snicker behind covered mouths
Always cautious around others
Afraid to be innovative
Those who dare are labeled eccentrics
Most turn hypocritical for fear of exclusion.
